Africa emerged from decades of political-social problems, wars, natural catastrophes, amongst other phenomena that influenced its late development. The continent with the world's highest poverty rate has grown to 5.6% per year over the past few years. But, on the other hand, more than half of the world’s population growth in 2050 is projected to occur in Africa, increasing the continent’s population to 2.5 billion people. And many of these will be young job seekers – the median age in Africa will be 25.4 years in 2050.
